After
several days of delay due to bad weather, our 20-meter Perkoz has made
its maiden flight! Test pilot Mariusz Stajewski made the first, 45
minute program. The flight took place over Bielsko surroundings and
covered some functional checks in different glider speed configurations.
And
though the protocols are not yet ready, we know that transforming
Perkoz into a high performance version was a great idea. The glider is
perfectly stable laterally, very easy to control, with a small force on
the stick. The most noticeable improvement is, however, significantly
better performance (L/D).
In
addition to cross-country flights the high performance version of
Perkoz might also be used for advanced wave flights. Strong rotor
turbulence or some far-away head wind rides won't be a problem for
Perkoz. We're glad that the fall is coming along with the season of wave
flying.
