The biggest and most recognizable general aviation fair in Europe AERO Friedrichshafen this year gathered a record number of exhibitors. We have demonstrated our two gliders – multipurpose and fully aerobatic certified SZD-54-2 Perkoz and SZD-59 Acro.
Both of these airframes are well known to the gliding community, however fe people know that recently they have undergone a significant metamorphosis taking into account comments of our current users and new clients.
In Perkoz cabin ergonomis has been improved, a whole range of facilities for both pilots was introduced, of which the most important is a greater amount of space in the front seat, integrated rear instrument panel quipped with newest avionics, better soundproofing, new and functional mechanisms for closing and locking the cabin, as well as additional wings fitting and its securing, and many others.
Acro has got additional long wingtips (the certification process continues) expanding wing span to 17 m, improved aileron drive significantly reducing force on the ailerons as well as new comfortable and functional trim device on the stick.
SZD-54-2 Perkoz and SZD-59 Acro are the only multipurpose gliders, fully certified in aerobatic category. They are the result of the work of experienced SZD engineers and also reflect the growing needs of today's most ambitious pilots.
